Crab & Cray Returns To NIDO

Crab & Cray returns Friday August 29th for a special winter edition - a long lunch devoted to the luxurious shellfish of our coastline, and the wines that pair so perfectly with them.

This event has become a seasonal fixture at NIDO, shaped by our relationships with local suppliers and a belief that the most memorable meals are built on simplicity, generosity and time.

This year’s menu focuses on prized South Australian crustaceans:

  • Blue Swimmer Crab from the nutrient-rich waters of the Spencer Gulf and Gulf St Vincent

  • Lobster sourced directly from the rugged Limestone Coast

  • And Slipper Lobster, small, sweet and delicately textured, delivered fresh from our long-standing seafood partners

Each of the six courses has been designed to showcase these ingredients at their best — with caviar, spice, smoke and richness all playing their part.

And because great seafood deserves great wine, we’ve partnered with Jono Hersey of The French Wine Centre, whose devotion to boutique French producers makes him one of the most respected curators in the country. Known for his sharp palate and lover of all things White Burgundy, Chardonnay, Chablis and Champagne, Jono’s pours for this lunch are both elegant and generous - designed to lift the seafood and leave a lasting impression.
