Jamie Fleming Takes Over NIDO (Friday October 31st)

At NIDO, our seasonal takeovers have grown into a tradition; afternoons when our little neighbourhood dining room feels more like a party with new friends.

This Spring, we welcome Jamie Fleming into the kitchen. Jamie isn’t just one of Australia’s most exciting chefs; he’s also a good friend of our very own Laura and Max Sharrad. The two first crossed paths on MasterChef, and now, with years of experience and awards behind them, they’re reuniting for one day only in Adelaide.

The menu is a conversation between Spain and Italy, told through South Australian produce. Chef Jamie is still crafting the menu - but think oysters dressed in sherry and guindilla spice. Fried crab churros glazed with XO caramel. Jamón with sweet rockmelon and a cool splash of sgropino. Charred lamb shoulder with mojo verde and peppers. And to finish, a Basque cheesecake softened with PX sherry. 

Each course will arrive with its own drink, hand-picked to amplify the flavours on the plate - from Spanish sherry and regional wines to clever cocktails that nod to Spring. It’s a proper pairing journey, as much about what’s in your glass as what’s on your plate.

This takeover is something new for the NIDO kitchen with Jamie bringing his modern Spanish style into our kitchen, folded gently into NIDO’s way of doing things.
